NOMINATION: Luminary - State and Territory

The Luminary Awards seek to honour individuals and organisations who, through sustained contribution (demonstrated over a period 3-5 years prior), have impacted their communities on a state or territory level through visionary leadership, fearless trailblazing, high-level artistic practice, and championing of Australian repertoire. Nominations for individuals should demonstrate a program of activities or a range of projects rather than (for example) the recording and release of a single album. Nominations for a single work or project should be made in the Work of the Year or Excellence categories.

If you believe you are nominated in the wrong category or the details of your nomination to be incorrect, please contact the AMC via email at awards@australianmusiccentre.com.au before proceeding with the nomination.

Nominator Statement
Hannah is a dynamic force in the Australian music scene, making significant contributions as a soprano, producer, arts administrator, and founder of the Tenth Muse Initiative. Passionate about championing the works of marginalised composers, she has played a pivotal role in reshaping conversations around diversity in classical music. Through her groundbreaking Womens Composers Project, Hannah has become a leading advocate for underrepresented voices, fostering greater awareness and appreciation for historically overlooked works.

As a performer, Hannah brings a fearless approach to both early Baroque cantatas and contemporary art songs, embracing the challenge of uncovering and interpreting lesser-known repertoire. Her expertise in curation and research has made her a sought-after consultant for ensembles and individuals looking to expand and diversify their programming.

Her work as a producer has been equally impactful. Since first developing her skills at the UWA Conservatorium of Music, she has cultivated an impressive portfolio of projects that elevate unheard narratives. The critically acclaimed debut of The Priestess of Morphine solidified Tenth Muse Initiative as an important new voice in Australian music, sparking national interest in the stories and compositions she champions.

Beyond her independent work, Hannah plays a key role in the national arts landscape as the WA State Coordinator for Musica Viva Australia, helping to shape the future of live music experiences. She also actively promotes the Australian documentary Mozarts Sister, furthering conversations around gender, history, and music.

With an unwavering commitment to advocacy and artistic excellence, Hannah continues to drive meaningful change in the industry, ensuring that the next generation of musicians inherits a richer, more inclusive musical landscape.
