Ossicle Duos performance of Dandenong Songs at The Music Box Projects Cut Paste Play Festival was a striking demonstration of their evolving improvisational practice, seamlessly weaving together their deep musical history and exploratory sonic approach.

Developed through a dedicated creative retreat in the Dandenong Ranges, this performance captured the essence of their duo interplaywhere switching, clacking, scraping, rustling, buzzing, spinning, resonating, and sparkling timbres coalesced into a mesmerizing 45-minute sound world.

Since their debut in 2018, Ossicle Duo has cultivated a unique improvisational language alongside their work with notated repertoire. At Cut Paste Play, their performance extended these explorations, creating a vivid and immersive experience that showcased both their instrumental dexterity and their commitment to deep listening.
Their approach to improvisationboth rigorous and playfulsolidified Dandenong Songs as a standout performance and embodied the festivals ethos of sonic curiosity and experimentation.
