Chamber music is defined as works for between 1 and 12 players, with or without vocal parts, and with or without electronics
A work is defined as a single complete musical composition, or expression. This includes music with movements or sub-works (i.e. song cycles), installations, and real-time compositions (improvised music).

Sophie Van Dijk is a young up and coming composer who writes with a distinctive voice and a flair for storytelling. This work for string quartet "Diaphanous Dance" was written as part of a prestigious USA Composition Festival held in Florida. Sophie represented Australia in this initiative and was selected from a strong cohort of composers globally. Sophie has dedicated herself to advancing her skills in composition, arranging and orchestrating as well as working in the industry as a sought-after project manager, composers' assistant and artistic collaborator. She is a composer to watch, having been selected for many composing initiatives Australia-wide including OMEGA Ensemble, Kuring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra, AYO, Coro Innominata and Gondwana National Choral School.
