Nominator Statement
The Consort of Melbourne performed Caedo by Meta Cohen as part of the Homophonic! season in the Midsumma Festival.

A work of sustained tension, brought to life by the always outstanding The Consort of Melbourne. Led by Steven Hodgson. This performance brought the audience to tears every night. The final line delivered with ultimate control by Alex Ritter sent shivers up the spine. The Consort held the tension and performed the work with such dedication that at times it was hard to believe it was totally acoustic.

This is an award winning work by an emerging Australian composer. It was great to see it performed with such commitment and musicality so close to home.
