The work Ghost Between Streams is an adventurous large scale work for Improvising jazz quartet, string quartet and two dancers. Inspired by daily walks through a small nature reserve in Cammeraygal country, the work delves unto the struggle between nature and urbanisation. The performance for Sydney fringe was at Sub-base Platypus, and outdoor space and former naval base over-looking Sydney Harbour, in Cammeraygal country. At this stunning location that was in keeping with the themes of the work, an extraordinary and haunting performance took place, featuring 8 young musicians at the top of their game showcasing the virtuosic, mature and expressive improvisational voice of trumpeter Tom Avgenicos.
